When Manny Pacquiao was preparing to battle Golden Boy Oscar Dela Hoya last year, Filipino ring icon had to face the hardest moment of his boxing career.
Before even the Dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight was finalized, Manny Pacquiao was already a loser in the eyes of most boxing analyst. But it has proven their bad. The hero of the demolished Filipino boxing DeLa Hoya, a six time world champion, in round eight.
Then came with Ricky Hatton, Pacquiao meeting including boxing record was defaced by Floyd Mayweather Jr., a possible Pacquiao next opponent. But before this fight, Hatton was undefeated. He was unbeaten in the weight of 140 lb until abolished Pacquiao record unblemished Hatton to 140 pounds.
Many people believed that in the fight against the Breton Hatton, Pacquiao faces test pleased his professional boxing career. Yet again, Pacquiao disillusioned critics. He humiliated Hatton in second round of their fight. Hatton was never the same again after this devastating defeat.
Last year, Philippine boxing legend has tried to do something that has never done before: winner of the champion in seven divisions of weight belt. Pacquiao has been immortalized in the history books when he stopped Puerto Rico Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas.
Fight last year once again in the category of the toughest test of his record Pacquiao. By examining the tale of the tape, boxing experts seem to mean previous victories of the Pacquaio on three legends of boxing Mexican (Antonio Barerra, Erik Morales, Juan Marquez) and on the British boxing hero were insignificant relative to its long-awaited war of the ring with Mayweather.
The pride of the Philippines could survive power punch of the Cotto, this combat, in the event where Manny Pacquiao is faced with Mayweather, Jr. invincibility hardly remain remembered as "the most difficult of the career of Pacquiao fights."
For fans of Filipinos, the Miguel Cotto Pacquiao wass win one more important since in Pacquaio won the greatest boxer worldwide of all time, having won seven belts Championship in seven weight divisions. One step even Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson has made such a rare feat: winning seven belts in seven weight divisions.
Possibility of disposal record for the Mayweather Pacquiao is not as memorable as the possibility of the triumph of the Philippine Cotto boxing hero. This is the cause of the relentless accumulation of thrills and excitement aggravated by hype.
Bob Arum, the promoter of this struggle, had already said Pacquiao as popular as Ali, Tyson and Dela Hoya. His statement is not arbitrary as well.
But what is most important is Pacquiao to rewrite the history of boxing on 15 November.
